1 min readLatest presidential opinion polls suggest that ODM leader Raila Odinga would win the majority vote if elections were held today.
In an opinion poll done by the Radio Africa group for the month of March shows that ODM leader Raila Odinga is catching up with his archrival Deputy President William Ruto.
According to the poll, 47% of respondents said they would vote for Raila if elections were held today compared to Ruto’s 43.4%.
In the latest presidential opinion polls, Raila’s popularity jumped from 35.1 percent in March to 47.4 while that of William Ruto dropped from 47.4 to 43.4 percent.
This is the first time in two years that Raila has outperformed the DP and the Star attributes this phenomenon to the Sagana Three declaration in which President Uhuru drummed up support for the former prime minister.
However, Ruto still dominates Central with 57.2% compared to 28.2% for Raila.
He also leads in North Rift, South Rift, and Upper Eastern.
On the other hand, Raila would lead in the other regions such as Nyanza, Coast, Western, North Eastern, Lower Eastern, and Nairobi.
