Raila Odinga revamps his social media pages, dropping Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua from his profile photo on all his social media pages

Raila Odinga revamps his social media pages, dropping Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua from his profile photo on all his social media pages.

This follows Narc Kenya’s decision to announce its exit from the Azimio coalition, citing concerns over the volatile political landscape.

For years, Karua had been hanging out in Raila’s profile photo, side by side, like the ultimate political duo.

Karua, who was Odinga’s running mate in the 2022 presidential elections, recently expressed strong criticism of Odinga’s political maneuvers, particularly his alliance with President William Ruto.

Karua condemned Odinga’s collaboration with Ruto, describing it as an unconstitutional “come-we-stay marriage” that undermines transparency and accountability.

In her statement, Karua accused Odinga of betraying Kenyans by allowing ODM party members to join Ruto’s Cabinet without proper constitutional processes.

She argued that ODM should have relinquished its role as the opposition rather than engaging in what she termed as backdoor politics.

“This broad-based government is illegal and unconstitutional. It sets a dangerous precedent by bypassing the Constitution’s safeguards and accountability measures,” Karua said.

Karua’s criticisms come amidst conflicting statements from Odinga regarding ODM’s involvement in the government.

Initially denying ODM’s entry into government, Odinga later acknowledged that President Ruto sought out ODM members for ministerial appointments.

“This confession by my former boss is telling. It reveals a strategic move by ODM to influence government decisions through unofficial channels,” Karua added.
