ODM and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi express concerns about the leadership of President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Caleb Amisi believes that the actions of the president and his deputy could have detrimental effects on Kenya.
He accuses the top leadership of prioritizing personal gain over the nation’s prosperity and suggests that their relationship is contingent on their individual interests.
The ODM lawmaker asserts that the pattern of their behaviour is unlikely to change and fears that it will hinder the nation’s progress.
“This Ruto and Gachagua bromance will destroy Kenya. They took over power to make money out of public coffers and not to lead a nation to prosperity. Whenever their budgets and respective tenders don’t come through, they stop talking to each other, but when they align, friendship and weekend rallies begin, and it will go on this way until 2027. You can not build a nation with such characters as leaders. I cry for my nation. Kenya needs a Renaissance,” he stated on his X account.
Last Sunday, Deputy President Gachagua reignited the discourse on revenue sharing, advocating for the “one man, one vote, one shilling” formula.

Addressing a congregation at the ACK Cathedral of St Peter’s in Mbeere, Siakago, Embu County, Gachagua emphasized that resources should be allocated based on population, as it correlates with the tax contribution to the government.
He further asserted that the Mt Kenya region should receive a portion of the Equalisation Fund, benefiting areas in need of development.
Gachagua’s statements followed closely after parliamentarians from the Mt Kenya region began advocating for fair distribution of revenue through the aforementioned formula.
Led by East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) member Maina Karobia and Ruiru MP Simon King’ara, these legislators urged the national leadership to seriously consider these proposals, highlighting their potential to promote equity across the country.
