“You’re being set up” Former Uhuru advisor to DP Gachagua
Mutahi Ngunyi warns DP Gachagua against reconciling with Former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has cautioned Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against burying the hatches with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a statement on Saturday, May 18, Ngunyi warned that any handshake with Uhuru would undermine Gachagua’s relationship with President William Ruto.
According to Ngunyi, the president and his predecessor are not on good political terms; hence, it would be counterproductive for Gachagua to oppose his boss’s position.
Ngunyi who was a technical advisor to Former President Uhuru Kenyatta argued that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team defeated Uhuru’s candidate in the 2022 presidential election; hence, there was no need to seek political dalliance.
“Dear Rigby G, A handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta is a set-up. He is the enemy of Ruto. If you embrace him, Ruto becomes your enemy. You defeated Uhuru in broad daylight. Soldier on. You “do not cross a river by constantly going back to the banks to rest.” Cross it. Kama mbaya, mbaya!”

His statement comes after the deputy president recently revealed plans to reconcile with the retired president after falling out in the 2022 general election.
DP Gachagya stated they had decided to embrace Uhuru as their son despite supporting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga in the 2022 election.
Gachagua explained that he had made plans to meet with his once close friend turned political nemesis.
The DP also indicated his willingness to meet with Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and discuss issues affecting the Mt. Kenya region.
