Detectives launch investigations after a senior National Youth Service (NYS) official, Chief Inspector who had gone missing for four days was found dead in his house.

The body of Chief Inspector Julius Tanui, 48, of NYS headquarters along Thika Road was found in his house long after he had gone missing.

Tanui had not been seen since June 6 up to June 10 when the body was discovered.

His family and friends were looking for him until Monday when the body was discovered, police said.

His colleagues broke into the house where they found the rotting body on his bed.

Police said the body did not have any visible injuries when it was discovered.

The cause of the death was not immediately established.

The body was moved to the morgue pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in the Kiamumbi area, Kahawa West, the body of a man aged about 30 was found next to a bar.

Police said they do not know the cause of the death and the identity of the victim.

The body was moved to the morgue pending identification and investigation.

In Kawangware, Nairobi, a shop attendant was found dead on the veranda of the facility.

The body of the attendant aged 40 was found on the veranda on Monday long after he had died.

It is not clear what caused the death and it did not have any visible injuries then, police and the family said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are investigating all cases of sudden death reported to them.

He said some of the cases are out of natural causes while others remain under probe.
