A man collapses, dies while testifying in a land succession case at the Bondo Magistrate’s Court.
According to reports, the man identified as Obonyo collapsed around noon and was immediately rushed to a private hospital by his family, where he passed away during treatment.
Siaya County Police Commander, Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, reported that the incident was initially reported to the Bondo police station by Mr. Dick Ochiel, the administrator of the Bondo law courts.

Despite a follow-up at Bondo sub-county hospital, no records were found concerning Obonyo’s treatment there.
Further investigation revealed that the family had taken Obonyo to Bama Hospital’s Bondo branch.
After confirming his death, they reportedly took the body back home without filing any police report regarding the death.
Mr. Kimaiyo confirmed the sequence of events and noted the absence of a formal report from the family to the police.
