Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has told off those spreading propaganda on an alleged plot to oust Moses Wetang’ula as the National Assembly Speaker.

Speaking during a church service in Khwisero, Kakamega County, Sakaja said there are no such plans against Wetang’ula saying he is here to stay as the Speaker.

He told off those he claimed were eyeing the seat, saying they should end their thought.

“I was worried when I heard propaganda about Wetang’ula, Wetang’ula is here to stay as the speaker of the National Assembly,” Sakaja said.

“Wetang’ula is there to stay as our Speaker. Those dreaming about his seat should stop. We should not be a country that always brings people down.”

He thanked acting interior CS Musalia Mudavadi for what he termed as leading the way and being close to the President.

Rumours about an alleged plot to oust Wetang’ula as the speaker begun soon after the impeachment of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

Sakaja called on all Kenyans to register for the Social Health Authority, saying the benefits they will reap from thee new scheme are immense.

He said the scheme will cure perennial challenges of accessing healthcare in the country, which has in most cases seen Kenyans opt for fundraising to cater for their bills.

He said registration will ensure the allocation of resources to health facilities, making drugs available for patients at all times.

The service which was held in Ekambuli, Khwisero in Kakamega, was attended by President William Ruto.

Also present during the service were Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale, Governor Fernandes Barasa and his Bungoma counterpart Kenneth Lusaka mong other local leaders.
