Seventeen people arrested in Raila attack case will be charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and provocation in connection with the stoning of Raila Odinga’s helicopter.
After the funeral of Mzee Kibor in Uasin Gishu, seventeen individuals were arrested on Saturday in connection with the stoning of Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s chopper at Kabenes.
Commissioner Stephen Kihara of Uasin Gishu County stated those arrested have provided details about the event.
He went on to say that the incident was planned by significant political figures in the region.
The National Police Service in a statement said those arrested were found to be in possession of money in Sh50 denominations and are helping with investigations.
Suspects in Raila attack
The Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i directed the National Police Service to investigate and arrest youths involved in the stoning of Raila’s chopper on Friday.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Caleb Kositany, and Uasin Gishu county speaker, David Kiplagat were also summoned over the Raila Odinga attack.
