United forward Cristiano Ronaldo could miss the Spurs match as he ‘holds showdown talks’ with his agent Jorge Mendes.
Ronaldo may miss his side’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur following his Manchester derby absence.
The United forward was nowhere to be found in the Etihad Stadium on Sunday as United were humiliated 4-1 by their bitter rivals.
According to reports, the superstar forward rushed home to Portugal after being ruled out due to injury.
As he designs his Old Trafford escape route, he is said to have held ‘showdown talks’ with his agent Jorge Mendes.
United forward Cristiano Ronaldo ‘showdown talks’
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly held showdown talks with his agent following his absence in Sunday’s Manchester derby.
The Portuguese striker didn’t even attend the derby against bitter rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday amid reports he had been ruled out through a hip flexor injury.
But contrasting reports have suggested the forward was left out of the starting XI by Ralf Rangnick.
And Ronaldo, who is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, is now said to be seeking a move away from the Old Trafford outfit after becoming disillusioned with life at the club.
Ronaldo could miss the Spurs tie
Cristiano Ronaldo could miss Tottenham Hotspur’s match due to the same injury that forced him to miss the Manchester derby last weekend.
According to interim manager Ralf Rangnick, the striker has recurred the hip flexor injury that kept him out of the game against Aston Villa earlier this season.
Before the match against City, he went to Portugal, then returned to United’s Carrington training base on Tuesday with two bodyguards in tow.
The striker has now been evaluated by the club’s physiotherapists ahead of their next game, and the initial assessment appears to be negative.
