First year student from Pwani University, Faith Adongo Owino dies following knife attack while on her way home.
Faith Adongo Owino succumbed to her injuries following a suspected knife attack at around 7:30 pm on Friday, October 20.
On her way home, Faith was allegedly stabbed several times by her attackers along the now-famous Misufuni road.
She was rushed to Kilifi District Hospital’s Emergency wing, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 10 pm.
Faith lost a significant amount of blood in the attack, according to a blood donation request made by Nashon Okoth, the leader of the Pwani University Student Association.
“Good evening, comrades. Following the proceedings of the stabbed comrades. We are appealing to anyone with blood group A+ to reach the Kilifi District emergency wing so that we can save her life,” read the appeal.

Following the demise her colleague students mourned her expressing shock for the sad news.
In a moving tribute on Facebook, Brian Leeruh expressed his sorrow following the untimely demise of Faith Adongo Owino. “My eyes bleed tears, My pen weep dripping blood, My heart is sinking like titanic, I want to cry loud but I can’t.” read part of the emotional poem.
Leeruh questioned why Faith had to be the victim of the attack, pointing out how quickly a smile was turned into sorrow.
“Safe journey dear one, Shine your way to our eternal home, May your soul find eternal peace Faith, Till we meet again in paradise,” he concluded.
Joylinter Bae posted: “The pain is too much I have never felt this bad like how …just like that one minute u are okay another minute you are gone ,I can’t imagne how will the family accept the news its so saaad and painful may her soul rest in peace.”
