Why there has been a delay in the issuance of ID cards; Huduma Kenya
Huduma Kenya says court order is the reason behind delayed issuance of ID cards
Huduma Kenya has disclosed that the High Court’s order that blocked the production of new digital National Identification cards resulted in the delayed issuance of ID cards.
This came after a number of Kenyans took to social media to complain about the same, claiming that they had applied for the document but waited for months to receive it.
However, on Thursday, May 30, Huduma Kenya noted that since the injunction blocking the production of the digital cards had been lifted, they were working to clear the backlog.
“Please note that we are experiencing delays due to the high court order that blocked the production of new digital ID cards/Maisha cards. The issue has been resolved, and we are working to reduce the backlog and have your ID ready soon,” Huduma Kenya responded to a user on X.
