You can ship out - Oscar Sudi hits out at CS Muturi over abductions expose

Oscar Sudi has asked Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi to leave the government after his damning revelation on how his son was abducted and released

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has asked Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi to leave the government after his damning revelation on how his son was abducted and released.

In a statement on Wednesday, January 15, Sudi claimed that Muturi’s revelation was a blackmail attempt and that its timing was suspicious.

The lawmaker further wondered whether the CS’s son was abducted without a reason.

“This desperate move, made now that your political career has waned, is a clear blackmail attempt. The timing is highly suspicious.

“In regards to your son’s woes, who is my age mate, was he abducted without a reason? Furthermore, there are many Embu professionals who can serve the country with zeal. You can ship out,” Sudi remarked.

His remarks come after Muturi on Tuesday, January 14, claimed that his son was abducted last year by the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

In a police statement, the CS alleged that he learnt about NIS’s involvement in his son’s abduction from a friend working within the intelligence unit.

Muturi claimed that he tried to seek assistance from then-Interior CS Prof. Kithure Kindiki without success before he decided to involve the president.

“The President joked, asking why anyone would want to arrest a young person over the Gen Z demonstrations. He even mentioned that Kiunjuri’s son and the sons of other officials had been involved in similar demonstrations. He then called Noordin Haji directly,” Muturi said.

Muturi noted that it was during this call that Haji allegedly confirmed Leslie’s detention.

“Standing outside the pavilion, I heard the President ask Noordin Haji if he was holding my son. Noordin confirmed that indeed he was holding my son and the President instructed him to release Leslie immediately.

Noordin responded that Leslie would be released within an hour,” he stated.

According to Muturi, true to Ruto’s directive, Leslie was released shortly after.
