A 58-year-old herdsman has been arrested for defiling 7 children aged between 3 and 10 in Trans Nzoia County.
A 58-year-old man has been detained in Waitaluk, Kiminini, Trans Nzoia, on suspicion of defiling at least seven children aged 3 to 10 on several occasions in December 2021.
The suspect works as a herdsman at a local school.
According to authorities, he allegedly used money, biscuits, and other material objects to entice the children inside his home.
Five of the children’s parents had filed police reports saying that their children had been abused.
On Saturday, January 8, police tracked down the suspect and apprehended him at his home, which is located within a primary school compound.
He’s being kept at the Sirende Police Station until his arraignment on Monday, January 10.
One of the youngsters, who is seven years old, claims that the suspect defiled her six times in December 2021 on separate days.
She alleged that she was sexually abused by the suspect when she was sent to buy milk from a dealer within the school compound.
She claimed the suspect offered her Sh10 and told her not to report the crime.
A medical investigation revealed that the girl was defiled, according to the youngster’s mother.
Another family claims the suspect violated their three-year-old and ten-year-old daughters on various occasions.
After reportedly executing the crime, the guy allegedly gave the 3-year-old child Sh50.
Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Sam Ojwang’ said the suspect will be arraigned, vowing to protect children against sexual predators.
