Man hacks two neighbour’s children to death, leaving their mother fighting for her life in hospital.
A village in Mwingi Central, Kitui County, is in shock and mourning after a 40-year-old man allegedly fatally hacked two children (ages 4 and 10), leaving their mother hospitalized.
According to reports, the woman and her children were attacked on their farm by Zakayo Ruth, a resident of Kwamunyanzu village.
The man is repeatedly said to have chopped them with a panga.
The 10-year-old child died on the spot while the four-year-old succumbed at Mwingi Level 4 Hospital on arrival.
The mother, 30, is fighting for her life at the same hospital.

The children’s father stated that he was lost for words to explain why the man had decided to wipe out his family despite living peacefully together.
“My Best Friend” He stated that they had never had an argument with the man who went into hiding after committing the crime.
Confirming the incident, Mwingi Central sub-County Police Commander Peter Mutuma said that although the exact cause of the cruel act was yet to be established, it is rumoured to have been accelerated by a land dispute.
The suspect is still at large.
