Ex-gospel journalist at Pwani FM, Sammy Ambari kills self inside his house in Kilifi.
Former Pwani FM journalist Sammy Ambari, also popularly known as Mtumishi, was found dead after hanging himself inside his home in the Matsangoni ward of Kilifi County.
The journalist hosted a weekly gospel radio show on Sundays at Pwani FM dubbed Tumsifu starting from 6 pm in the evening to 9 pm.
Pwani FM is a coast-based radio that covers issues in the region.
Ambari later entered politics and ran unsuccessfully for the Matsangoni ward in the national elections of 2022.
His media sector peers have praised him as a witty individual who was extroverted and exhibited strong leadership qualities.
His passing was announced by his former employer Pwani FM through their social media accounts, revealing that he died by suicide.

‘’He immersed himself in the political arena after leaving Pwani FM,’’ stated Pwani FM.
Speaking to the media, people close to him stated that the ex-journalist had shown no signs of distress or illness.
In the meantime, suicide rates have been rising, and some experts blame this on the low level of mental health awareness in the country.
Experts have cautioned that the country’s present economic difficulties will cause more Kenyans to develop despair.
Many Kenyans have been forced out of jobs and layoffs as a result of the rising unemployment rate.
