Parents beat 11-year-old girl to death for allegedly stealing Ksh.200 in Bondo sub-county in Siaya County.
The 11-year-old girl passed away at home in Masita village, Bondo sub-county, Siaya County after she was battered by her parents for reportedly stealing Ksh 200.
An 11-year-old girl died after she was allegedly beaten by her parents for stealing Ksh 200 at their home in Masita village within Bondo sub-county in Siaya County.
The little girl, who has been identified as Gabriela Atieno is said to have stolen the Ksh. 200 belonging to her father Cornel Ogeno, prompting the parents to cane her on Sunday evening.
Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, the commander of Siaya County Police, claims that the girl’s parents repeatedly beat her till she became unconscious.

It was at that point that they rushed her to the nearby Bondo sub-county hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mr. Kimaiyo stated that it was reported by a nurse at Bondo sub-county hospital that the lifeless body of the child had multiple bruises when she was taken to the facility.
Police officers visited the hospital and found the lifeless body of Gabriela at the casualty unit with multiple bruises all over.
While confirming the incident, Mr. Kimaiyo stated that the two parents had been arrested for further investigations.
The body with multiple visible injuries has since been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
