Former Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale issues a warning to all those planning chaos ahead of the Tuesday nationwide anti-government protests.
In a statement on Monday, Duale emphasized that the government would not permit any planned violence to disturb the peace.
“To those instigating anarchy from the shadows, we know you and we are aware of your schemes,” he wrote.
“The sovereignty of our beloved nation is our most shared asset. We will not permit orchestrated acts of violence to disturb the peace we’ve upheld since the birth of the white in our national flag.”
The former CS issued the warning a few hours after President William Ruto also emphasized that the country would not descend into anarchy.
Ruto who was speaking in Nakuru County, called out the Ford Foundation for allegedly sponsoring the ongoing protests in the country.
The Head of State emphasized that his administration would deal with such parties perpetrating violence and funding protests.
“We have no use of anarchy or violence and loss of lives. We are going to call them (the foundation) out and tell them if they are not interested in the democracy of Kenya they should either shape up or leave,” Ruto declared.
Notably, Duale spoke days after being dismissed when President William Ruto dissolved his cabinet last week.
The Head of State is yet to reconstitute his cabinet with Principal Secretaries currently tasked with running the government.

Before his dismissal, Duale during an interview with Citizen TV remarked that the demonstrations had been hijacked by rogue individuals fanning violence during protests.
He argued that some of Ruto’s political foes were the true faces behind the protests. Duale claimed that the adversaries were keen on advancing their personal agendas at the country’s expense.
“The ones who are saying ‘Ruto Must Go’ are the same people who were saying before the elections Ruto will not become the President and they have not recovered from the fact that Ruto is now the President. Ruto is changing the country. Ruto works from 6 am to midnight,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Kenyans are expected to continue with anti-government protests on Tuesday and Thursday which will serve as a platform for Kenyans to continue voicing their dissatisfaction with the current regime and various policies instituted by it.
