First Lady Rachel Ruto has sent a message of encouragement to the newly appointed 19 Cabinet Secretaries.

In a statement after they were sworn in, Mama Rachel congratulated the CSs calling on them to serve Kenyans with integrity and commitment to achieve the agenda set out by the President.

“Congratulations to the 19 Cabinet Secretaries who have been sworn in this morning. We believe in your ability to serve the nation, working with unity of purpose to deliver the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA),” she said.

“May you serve with courage, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to the well-being of the Kenyan people. The country is counting on you.”

Ruto gazetted their appointments on Wednesday after the National Assembly approved them.

Senior state officials and the family of the new CSs also attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi were present.

President William Ruto witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the new CSs and urged them to make service to the people of Kenya their first and only priority.

He encouraged them to also focus on delivering and implementation of programmes that will move the country forward.

“I urge you, therefore, to go forth and from this day, focus on delivery, and dedicate your time and effort to the implementation of the various strategies, programmes, and projects that the nation’s transformation demands.

“I encourage you to make the people of Kenya your first and only priority and to never let your own interests come in the way of your duties,” the President said.

Ruto assured the new CSs of his full support in discharging their mandate to Kenyans.

He said that he will be leading by example as a good steward of public resources and accountability.

Ruto said the people of Kenya have made their expectations known in bold terms.

He added that they have also made their intolerance for failure, inefficiency, corruption, and ineptitude equally clear.

“As champions of the nation’s development agenda, you will be team players, servant leaders, faithful trustees, effective stewards of the people’s interests, and dependable custodians of their resources.”
