Mining CS Joho makes an unannounced visit to Madini House to the surprise of the management and staff.
Newly appointed Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho unexpectedly visited Madini House on Saturday, August 24.
During his visit, CS Joho was so infuriated by an employee that he ordered administrative action against him.
In addition, Joho reviewed records while being guided by a staff member at Madini House.
Joho appeared concerned when he inquired about the source of a specific mineral sample in their custody, and the staff member guiding him could not explain.

“Stop playing. You’re the ones supporting illegal mining. You can test for anybody who doesn’t disclose the source. What nonsense is this? Someone can go do illegal mining and bring the minerals to you. You afterward test and certify for them to export,” Joho complained.
He could not hide his anger when the staff seemed unaware of the sources of some of the minerals they received.
“What is your work? Who is in charge of this place?” Joho then called for administrative action against a staff member, insisting that he must justify why he should retain his position.
He also demanded that individuals bringing mineral samples to Madini House reveal their sources, or those in charge would be held accountable.
