A woman aged 45 years dies by suicide after jumping from the 19th floor of View Park Towers off Uhuru Highway.
A 45-year-old woman has died by suicide after jumping from the 19th floor of View Park Towers off Uhuru Highway on Wednesday, November 6.
In a police report, the woman identified as Charity Muthoni had visited her friend, Benjamin Kibet, who does printing business, on the ground floor.
The duo engaged in a conversation over a cup of tea until 3:45 pm when Muthoni excused herself to attend to an important matter.
“They were together taking tea but she excused herself but in a short while, her friend received a message from her that she had decided to commit suicide,” read part of the police report.

Shortly after, she texted Kibet that she had decided to jump from the 19th floor.
Muthoni left her shoes, jacket, and mobile phone and fell on top of a tent erected on the ground floor, where she succumbed to the injuries.
Nearby witnesses contacted the police, who rushed to the scene to document, process, and move the body to the city mortuary.
According to the report, Muthoni’s motive to die by suicide is yet to be established.
