KDF soldier found dead in locked Juja home
Police are investigating the death of a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier whose body was found under mysterious circumstances at her home on the outskirts of Nairobi City.
The soldier was identified as 44-year-old Elizabeth Wanjiru, who was attached to the Department of Defence (DoD) headquarters.
Wanjiru’s body was discovered in her home in Juja, Kiambu County, after she failed to respond to repeated calls from her family.
The house was reportedly locked from the inside, prompting relatives to force entry to check on her welfare.
Reports say Wanjiru was found lying on a sofa in a pool of blood with visible marks on her face consistent with electrocution.
Police and military officials have launched a joint inquiry to determine the cause of her death.
Meanwhile, her body was moved to the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital Mashujaa Funeral Home, where a postmortem is set to be conducted.
Investigators said the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, and all possibilities are being examined as part of the inquiry.

A 77-year-old woman identified as Margret Wambui Nyoike was also found dead in her home under suspicious circumstances.
Reports indicated that her door was open, and her body was found on the floor with evidence of strangulation, including a scarf around her neck, and a footprint on her chest.
Authorities said efforts to trace the woman’s family members are ongoing as she lived alone.
Her body was moved to a mortuary as law enforcement agencies continue investigations into the reported killing.
