A female KCSE candidate storms out of exam room, refuses to write KCSE exam
A female KCSE candidate refused to write the KCSE exam after storming out of the exam room and insulting her father and teacher.
The female KCSE candidate from Nyamira refused to sit the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination after falling out with her father and a principal.
The 19-year-old female who walked out of the school complex on Friday is still being sought by security officers and Ministry of Education officials.
The student had been brought to the school, where the principal sought to counsel her during Friday rehearsals.
However, the girl allegedly abused the principal and her father when they tried to persuade her to take the exam before walking out of the school compound, according to Nyamira County Education Director Boniface Ouko.
“She had dropped out of school and the administration was looking for her. When she was finally traced and successfully lured to school, she simply rebelled against the principal and her parents before rudely walking away,” Mr Ouko said.
It was not immediately clear where the girl had gone since dropping out of school.
Mr Ouko said the girl was one of a few cases of absentee candidates who had enrolled for the national exam but had not taken it.
