Arsenal boss Arteta to name new front four after his latest remarks

Arsenal boss Arteta will in no doubt name a new front four after his latest remarks.

Mikel Arteta has had to leave one of his most crucial players on the bench for much of the season, but with a lot of attacking players in excellent form, he may be able to shuffle the pack to fit them all.

While Gabriel Martinelli was expected to take his place in the middle after the club failed to sign a centre-forward in January, allowing both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Folarin Balogun to leave, the Arsenal boss Arteta may now have different plans.

Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Martinelli might all be named in the same starting lineup after he recently said that Emile Smith Rowe, an English midfielder, could play as a number 9.

He said (as quoted in the Metro): ‘He can play as a left winger, he can play as a left attacking midfielder, right attacking midfielder and he can play as a nine — very, very well I think,’

This revelation should come as no surprise, since those with a long memory will recall that he previously gave Smith Rowe a shot as an attacker, replacing Alexandre Lacazette against Man City when Arsenal down 2-1.

With only Eddie Nketiah and Laca as senior options in the squad at the moment, it wouldn’t be surprising if other players were given an opportunity to play through the center before the end of the season, and given that Emile is now our leading scorer, it makes sense.
