Arsenal Football Club Expand Summer Striker Shortlist To Six Players
Arsenal football club have expanded their summer transfer striker shortlist to at least six names, according to a report.
Arsenal have reportedly expanded their summer striker shortlist beyond Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Jonathan David, according to the Daily Express.
Darwin Nunez of Benfica, Victor Osimhen of Napoli, and Armando Broja of Chelsea (currently on loan at Southampton) are all being considered ahead of the summer window.
Arsenal has already held discussions with Nunez’s agency, despite interest from Premier League clubs such as West Ham United and Newcastle United.
The most significant impediment to signing Osimhen is reportedly his high price tag, which could reach £80 million. Broja’s future is also uncertain, considering Chelsea’s ownership position.
If Everton continue to play badly enough to be relegated, Calvert-Lewin could be available for less than previously thought. They are barely three points above the relegation zone after winning only one of their last five games and losing the other four.
It’s a good thing Arsenal football club has a lot of choices ahead of the summer transfer season.
That way, they should be able to land one of their targets without having to pay an exorbitant fee and without being overly reliant on the decision of a single player or team.
The Gunners are disadvantaged by the fact that everyone knows they’re looking for a striker.
Arsenal’s bargaining strategy is likely to focus on keeping all of their buying options open for as long as feasible.
