“Before I became a judge, I never never imagined a file would intrude into my bedroom. But I can assure you, I sleep with several of them and so are these judges in front of you who have to wake up in the middle of the night and catch up with a paragraph or two or sometimes you can’t even sleep because a solution has come to you in the form of a dream and you have to wake up and write it down,” she said, drawing laughter from the audience.

Earlier, Koome said she is governed by principles and constitution in her official undertakings. Koome, who is also the president of the Supreme Court, revealed that in her career, she has never sat to determine a case whose parties approached her for favours.

According to her, in the event a party approaches her, she would recuse herself from the case and then expose those seeking favours.
