Eden Hazard asks to leave Real Madrid amid lack of game time
2 min readEden Hazard has reportedly asked to leave Real Madrid during this window transfer amid lack of game time
Eden Hazard has had a rough two and a half years in the Spanish city, where he has struggled with fitness and form.
Hazard had been limited by injuries up until this season, but despite being fully fit this season, his opportunities have been limited.
Hazard has been overshadowed by the likes of Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior this season, forcing Carlo Ancelotti to overlook the winger.
Hazard did get a taste of action recently, but he was then benched for the Saudi Arabian Super Cup campaign.
The Belgian did not appear in either the semi-final or final, and he has had enough, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri via Sport.
Hazard is said to have told Real Madrid that he wants to leave, and a departure might happen this month.

Hazard is also said to have another medical issue that would necessitate surgery, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants Hazard to avoid surgery so that he may be sold.
If Hazard is sold, Real Madrid will lose a significant portion of the more than €100 million they paid for him.
However, the club will cut their losses given the poor form and fitness of Hazard and the lack of promise that he can improve from this point.
