However, Arsenal have been handed a major Bukayo Saka contract boost despite the speculation.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Bukyo Saka isn’t planning to leave Arsenal this summer.
The brilliant winger has established himself as one of the club’s top players in recent years, which is a huge achievement considering he is still only 20 years old.
Saka’s outstanding achievements throughout the 2020/21 season earned him the club’s player of the year award, and he has already scored seven goals and provided four assists in the Premier League this season.
His consistency has not gone unnoticed outside the Emirates Stadium, with reports linking him with a move to Liverpool, given that his contract in north London is slated to expire in the summer of 2024.
Back in January, the Gunners planned to offer the England international a new deal at the end of the current campaign, and the new contract will reflect the youngster’s role in the team as one of the most important players.
Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Saka’s future, claiming that Arsenal supporters have no reason to be worried about a summer exit.
“They’re also working on Bukayo Saka’s future because this boy is really special,” Romano told Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.
“It’s always Liverpool rumours, this is what I was asking yesterday and the answer I received was that Bukayo loves Arsenal, he loves the club, he’s a good guy and a genuine guy, and this is why he’s not planning to leave in the summer.
“He’s not focused on a new deal now because he wants to focus on the season, but at the end of the season he will have a meeting with Arsenal and discuss a new deal.”
