Former Gor Mahia star player, Collins Okoth alias Gattuso charged with murder of a minor in Lucky Summer, Nairobi.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has preferred murder charges to former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars midfield star Collins Okoth alias Gattuso.
Gattuso and Sylvia Aoko Odhiambo were accused of allegedly killing three-year-old Scovian Maya in Nairobi’s Lucky Summer area.
The little girl’s body was found at her parents’ house in the apartment where Gatusso lived.
The former footballer was implicated in the case after a weapon believed to have caused the minor’s death was found in his custody.

He was planning to vacate the apartment following the suspicion he threw the killer object, but police caught up with him.
The investigators detained him at the Pangani Police Station as the probe continued.
All the while, Gattuso and his co-accused denied the charges.
With the completion of the probe, the ODPP established that the former player had a case to answer.
The state prosecution objected to the request to release him on bond.
The court directed the prosecution to file an affidavit opposing bail within three days, with the defense to respond.
The matter will be up for mention on September 25.
