Gachagua, SHA, and Anguka Nayo top google searches in 2024 [List]

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is the most searched local personality on Google in Kenya in 2024.

According to data released by Google on Tuesday, December 10, Gachagua led in the local personalities category alongside Tourism CS Rebecca Miano and her Defence counterpart Soipan Tuya.

In the category are also Director-General of the National Intelligence Service Noordin Haji, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.

In the trending news category, the Social Health Authority (SHA) was the most searched in the year, followed by Finance Bill 2024 and the U.S. elections 2024.

Gachagua’s impeachment, Haiti, cyclone Hidaya, Starlink Kenya, Gen Z, SHIF, and Ford Foundation are also among the top searches in the category.

In the trending lyrics category, the infamous Anguka Nayo hit topped the searches, followed by Kudade and Hit and Run by Shenseea.

The most searched deaths in 2024 include those of content creator Brian Chira, veteran journalist Rita Tinina, famous actor Charles Ouda and World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum.
