Gunmen Kill Over 10 Worshipers In Nigeria
Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have killed more than 10 worshipers in Niger state, Nigeria
On Wednesday morning, worshipers were slain while doing the Subhi prayer.
The attackers stormed the mosque with a variety of weapons and told the worshippers to stay put.
According to reports, the gunmen arrived in the area on motorbikes, armed with sophisticated weaponry, and positioned themselves at the mosque’s entrance before shooting the worshipers.
When the attackers opened fire on the congregants during the last Raka’at of the prayer, nine persons were injured in varying degrees.
It was also said that when the gunmen arrived, they blocked the mosque’s entrances and began shooting into the air, forcing worshipers to flee for their lives.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police acknowledged the claim but said the attackers killed only nine people.
He claimed that the leadership has already dispatched his soldiers to track down the hoodlums and bring them to justice.
