Insider says Uhuru should carry the heavy burden of Raila’s loss to the presidency

Uhuru should carry the burden of Raila’s loss, he failed to protect his votes yet he was the president according to Maina Kamanda.

The proponents of the Azimio la Umoja coalition had expressed faith that Uhuru would guarantee a landslide victory for the Raila-led coalition.

Due to his clout in the voter-rich Mt. Kenya area, lawmakers said that Uhuru was the missing piece in Raila’s ascent to the top throne during the campaign.

However, after the results of the election on August 9 were announced, some MPs questioned why the Head of State had not protected Raila’s votes.

And now, according to former Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, president Uhuru Kenyatta is mostly to blame for Azimio’s defeat in the August 9 presidential election.

According to Kamanda, Raila Odinga’s campaign failed because of Uhuru’s personality and hubris, which ultimately gave the winning position to the opposition.

The Head of State, according to him, was a leader who disregarded opposing opinions from either his close associates or elders.

“We were unable to win because Uhuru is Mr. Know It All as he does not take any advice from elders. It’s either his way or the highway. That’s where our calculations went wrong,” he told KTNNews.

The former Nominated Member of Parliament noted that this created a loophole for president-elect William Ruto to edge his way into the country’s top seat.

“Please inform the president that the country decided, you were the head of Azimo, when the leader limps, the flock does not reach the pasture.”

The fate of the close allies of both Raila and Uhuru remains unknown as the Kenya Kwanza coalition is set to take over the government for the next five years.
