Karua Promises to Neutralise Ruto’s Wave in the Mt Kenya Region as She Campaigns at Night in the Mountain.

Raila’s running mate Martha Karua in the August election has promised to reverse the gains made DP Ruto in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region. 

Since she was appointed as Azimio la Umoja One Coalition deputy president designate, Karua has hit the ground running holding over 30 rallies across Central Kenya.

She kickstarted her Mt Kenya campaigns on Tuesday in Kirinyaga County and has since proceeded to Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi Counties. 

On Friday, May 20, she held a mega rallies in nyeri and Murang’a counties that turned heroic as thousands of residents turned up in large numbers to grace the vent.

Karua vowed to change the region’s political allegiance through persuasion as she dismissed the Ruto-Gachagua ticket insisting they did not have the interests of Mt Kenya at heart. 

“If we are elected, I will seal corruption loopholes and ensure that the taxpayers have value for their money. I will visit this region frequently until we speak in one voice – Azimio,” Karua told the crowd in Mathira.

She was accompanied by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Nyeri senator Ephraim Maina and other local leaders. 

She has promised to deliver 90% of the Mt Kenya votes to Raila’s led Azimio camp.
