At the Gongoni Police Station in Kilifi County on Monday, a female police officer was the victim of a vicious attack by her colleague.
The female police officer reported for duty at the station at 8:00 p.m. and asked to pick up a case file so she could carry out her task, according to a police report that AfrinewsKe was able to access.
A few minutes later, her coworker who was keeping watch over the case cabinet refused to give her the file and started beating and slapping her.
According to the report, the female cop collapsed and started crying out for assistance. Colleagues were alerted to the distress sounds and raced to the station, where they discovered the female police officer on the floor and an enraged suspect.

The Station Police Commander visited the scene in the interim and recorded the course of events. To ascertain the reason for the attack and the sequence of events, investigations were started.
This instance demonstrates the growing pattern of police officer assault charges. As they attempt to uphold law and order, they frequently contend with a poor perception from society in their line of work.
They occasionally experience mental trauma, which deteriorates mental well-being and has an impact on the provision of services.
The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) created a counseling unit to offer outreach programs to police in order to address this.
These programs are designed to assist police enforcement in overcoming suicidal thoughts and behaviors, burnout, and negative public perception.
