Cristiano Ronaldo was absent as Manchester United boarded a plane to London ahead of their game against Brentford this evening.
Injury forced the United Portugal superstar international to miss United’s trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, and he is now expected to sit out the game at the Brentford Community Stadium.
On Monday, the 36-year-old was in Switzerland for FIFA’s The Best awards presentation, where he was honored for breaking the all-time international scoring record.
Interim head coach Ralf Rangnick will be desperate to get his star player back in shape in order to get United back on track after their 2-2 draw at Villa Park at the weekend.
Anthony Elanga took Ronaldo’s position in the starting lineup and will face Marcus Rashford for a starting spot tonight.
