Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports through the State Department for Sports has announced several job vacancies for qualified individuals seeking to work within the sports sector

The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports through the State Department for Sports has announced several job vacancies for qualified individuals seeking to work within the sports sector. 

The available positions include Senior Assistant Sports Registrars, Principal Sports Officers, and Senior Sports Officers, all of which offer competitive remuneration and benefits.

The position of Senior Assistant Sports Registrar has six vacancies and offers a basic salary ranging from Ksh 52,330 to Ksh 96,130, alongside additional benefits such as housing and commuter allowances. 

Applicants must have served as Assistant Sports Registrars for at least three years in the public service, hold a Bachelor’s degree in law, and possess other legal qualifications, including a practicing certificate and computer skills. 

Successful candidates will be tasked with responsibilities such as registering sports organizations, resolving disputes, and maintaining sports-related records.

The Ministry is also seeking to recruit four Principal Sports Officers to assist the Director of Sports in policy planning and implementation.

This role offers a similar salary range and benefits to the Senior Assistant Sports Registrar position. 

Applicants must have served as Senior Sports Officers for a minimum of three years and demonstrate exceptional merit and ability. 

Responsibilities will include formulating policies, preparing budgets, and coordinating bilateral agreements in sports development.

Eight positions are available for Senior Sports Officers, offering a basic salary ranging from Ksh 46,120 to Ksh 65,860.

Candidates for this role must have at least three years of experience as Sports Officers and hold a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related fields.

Alternatively, applicants with a degree in social sciences and a postgraduate diploma in sports administration will also be considered. 

Responsibilities in this role include coordinating fitness programs, advising on facilities, managing records, and promoting sports activities at the national level.

The Ministry has encouraged interested and qualified candidates to download the Public Service Commission (PSC) application form from its website and submit it alongside copies of their academic and professional certificates. 

Hard-copy applications should be delivered to Kencom House in Nairobi. 

The deadline for applications is January 3, 2025, at 5 PM. 

Applicants are reminded to ensure all required documents are included and to present the originals during interviews.
