Kalonzo Exits Azimio; Mixed Reactions as Kalonzo Severs Ties With Azimio: “Ukambani iko Represented na Ngilu, Kibwana” 

Kenyans have had different reactions to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s departure from the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

After fruitless conversations with fellow Azimio leaders, Kalonzo announced on Monday, May 16 that he had left the alliance and was running for president.

Prior to the August presidential elections, Kalonzo asked Raila Odinga, Azimio’s presidential candidate, to pick him as his running mate. 

Kalonzo has however launched his presidential bid and named Andrew Sunkuli as his running mate.

After Kalonzo’s huge announcement, netizens swamped social media sites with reactions. Raila is unaffected by Kalonzo’s departure from the coalition, according to some social media users.

They started the Ukambani people were still represented in the alliance by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and his Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu. 

Some said that Kalonzo will regret the choices that he had made on this day for the rest of his life and his flip-flopping character.

Meanwhile, the Azimio presidential candidate Raila unveiled the Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his running mate. 

Speaking during the announcement on the morning of Monday, May 16, Raila cited the former Justice minister’s experience in politics and public service as the reason she was the best pick for the position.
