Former Public Service CS Moses Kuria sensationally claims that the Kenya Kwanza government failed some of its plans after Raila allies joined the cabinet.
Speaking in Makueni on Friday, July 27, Kuria said the government had turned to allies of Azimio leader Raila Odinga to help it achieve some of its plans.
He noted that over 12 million Kenyans borrowed from the Hustler Fund and the government tried to follow them but didn’t manage.
“There is a fund called the Hustler Fund. Twelve million people have borrowed money from the fund and have run away with it. We tried to follow them, but we couldn’t manage, so we told Oparanya, ‘You seem capable; come and look for that money,” said Kuria.
The former CS also said he was asked by Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior on mineral revenue share but he had no answer for it.
Kuria asked Governor Kilonzo to go and ask Hassan Joho who has been nominated to the Mining Ministry docket.
“Here in Makueni County, we have minerals, and the governor has come to me several times asking when Makueni will get its share of the mineral revenue. I did not have an answer because we could not manage that task, so now you, governor, should seek Joho,” said Kuria.
The former Gatundu South MP went on to observe that the government failed to manage the reduction of fuel prices and picked Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi to come up with a formula.

“You made noise about the price of fuel. I had to tell you to dig your own well, but you said you couldn’t. When we couldn’t manage that task, we went to Ugunja to seek Opiyo Wandayi to give us a formula to reduce the price of fuel because we couldn’t manage it,” Kuria remarked.
Further, he said the government has been facing a challenge in raising revenue with Kenyans opposing tax hikes.
The former CS mentioned that the government went to seek John Mbadi to steer the National Treasury and help raise revenue for key government projects.
President William Ruto on Wednesday, July 24 reconstituted the cabinet and brought in the four allies of Odinga.
However, Kuria and nine other former CSs were left out of the new broad-based cabinet.
