A Nairobi man lost his entire family after his wife reportedly killed their three children before taking her own life.
The woman was the wife of an outspoken Kameme Radio fan named Junior Wa Githogoro and allegedly committed the heinous act while depressed.
According to Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, the husband, a fan of the station, called her before she went for the morning show noting that he returned home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, and found his three children strangled to death, and the wife had committed suicide.
She allegedly strangled her children using bedsheets before proceeding to hang herself with another bedsheet.
Astonished by the call, Kirumba reached out to a senator, Bishop JJ, and some close friends to help the man out. Unfortunately, none of them picked up her calls.
The husband, who was returning from a night shift, alerted the neighbors who called the police.
The eldest child was 12 years old while the other two were twins aged eight years.
Investigations are ongoing to determine what could have led the mother to commit suicide and also kill her children. Gigiri Deputy Police Commander Fredrick Alata says they recovered a suicide note from the house, which they are probing to determine the author and the motive of the unfortunate event.

The four bodies are lying at the Kenyatta Teaching and Referral morgue ahead of a postmortem exercise.
Although Muthoni wa Kirumba did not reveal why the mother committed the act, she suspected that she might have been driven by mental issues.
This is not the first time a mother has ended the life of her children. In August 2024, a 35-year-old woman from Bomet reportedly suffering from depression murdered her two children and then took her own life.
She reportedly used a blank metallic object to kill her 10 years and four-year children before hanging herself to death.
Depression has been blamed for many of these cases.
