Officials from Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) also attended the meeting.
“Each MP provided a list of the roads that need rehabilitation in their respective constituencies. To the people of Githunguri, rest assured that I fully represented your interests, and soon the department will publish the list of all roads to be budgeted for in the upcoming budget, in due course,” Senator Karungo added.
The construction of the Mau Mau road which links Murang’a, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Nyandarua counties was started during the Jubilee administration under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The 165-kilometer road project however stagnated due to lack of funds.
