Having issued their strike notice to the administration last Thursday, the students made good their threat on Tuesday morning.

The rioting students took to the streets, blocking a section of the busy road, with motorists left camping for hours.

Student leader Naomi Oketch told media that the administration has remained mute amid their constant pleas for assistance.

“We resorted to going on strike since our calls to the administration remained unanswered,” the students said.

They also noted that there is little-to-no internet access in the school, further affecting their studies.

“Some of the hostels have dysfunctional sockets. Others lack study chairs. We have raised these issues but no one has responded to our cries for help,” they added.
