Peter Kenneth endorsed to be Raila’s Running Mate
Peter Kenneth, has been endorsed by Gatanga Elders to be Raila’s Running Mate.
The elders of the Gatanga sub-county have nominated former MP Peter Kenneth for the position of Mt Kenya political kingpin, as well as to deputize Raila Odinga in his August presidential quest.
The over 50 elders said they were confident of Kenneth’s track record and rating both locally and internationally.
Kenneth remarked in his acceptance speech that if Raila chooses him, he is ready to serve Kenyans.
“Raila is the best among all presidential aspirants and I am ready to serve Kenyans if Raila settles on me as his deputy,” he said.
“We have supported the handshake of Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta and that’s the initiative we will be supporting as we head to the 2022 General Election,” he noted.
Gatanga MP Ndwati Ngugi led the other residents present to second the endorsement, revealing that President Uhuru Kenyatta supports the initiative.
“We spoke with the President and we agreed for him to talk to members of ODM, OKA and former Jubilee politicians who left in order to work together as one,” Ngugi stated.
As the contest for the 2022 general election approaches, seasoned politicians such as Kenneth, NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have been considered as the frontrunners to succeed Raila.
ODM, Jubilee, and other political parties are set to create a giant coalition under Azimio la Umoja to take on Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
