Police blocks Kalonzo, Wanjigi from church, forces him to cancel a political rally

Opposition leaders, Kalonzo Musyoka, Wamalwa and Politician Jimi Wanjigi denied access to AIC Kasina Church in Mlolongo on police instructions; cancel two rallies in Kitengela and Mlolongo

Opposition leaders, Kalonzo Musyoka, Wamalwa and Politician Jimi Wanjigi denied access to AIC Kasina Church in Mlolongo on police instructions; cancel two rallies in Kitengela and Mlolongo.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday announced that he had canceled two political rallies lined up in Kitengela and Mlolongo towns.

The Wiper leader, while addressing a congregation at Glorious Gospel Center Church, noted that he alongside other leaders among them Jimi Wanjigi and Eugene Wamalwa were denied access to AIC Kasina Church in Mlolongo for a service.

According to the Wiper leader, the police intercepted them while making their way to the church.

The leader was in the company of Safina Party Leader Jimmi Wanjigi and other leaders including Democratic Alliance Party(DAP K) leader Eugine Wamalwa, and Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni among others.

Kalonzo, while referring to the incident, called out the police wondering why they had to deploy police vehicles in Kitengela.

”No wonder the guilty are afraid, what is the reason for bringing in the police land rover outside here in Kitengela and Mlolongo? It is a shameful act,’’ he added.

He also asked the new Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to move in and address some of the accusations that the police have been accused of in the recent past.

‘’I want to appeal to the new Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to stand there and make a difference so that all of us can feel secure,’’ Kalonzo stated.

The wiper leader was, as a result, forced to attend a church service at Glorious Gospel Center Church in Kitengela.

He while addressing the congregants also called out those who have been viewing him as an opposition to the government to reconsider their position, asserting that he and his team were ready to take over the government.

”Some are now labeling our opposition, I cannot be an opposition, and yet we are a team waiting to take over the government properly we are an alternative government,” Kalonzo urged.

Musyoka, in the recent past, came out to defend the embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, citing a system by the government to frustrate the second in command.

Kalonzo also appeared to rally behind the DP’s call for the unity of the Mt Kenya region, a call that has been under criticism from a section of leaders allied to President William Ruto.
