There was chaos during President William Ruto's tour in Kibra after police clashed with youth escorting his motorcade

There was chaos during President William Ruto’s tour in Kibra after police clashed with youth escorting his motorcade.

In the incident that was captured on video on Thursday, March 13, youths were filmed escorting the President’s car into Ayany Primary and Junior School before being stopped by the officers.

Owing to the huge crowd, police were seen shouting and pushing the crowd to leave the compound.

During the incident, some officers were forced to use their rungus to remove the youth from the compound.

Some security personnel in plain clothes were also filmed roughing some of the youths. It is still unclear whether the plain-clothed security personnel were police officers or private bodyguards.

Notably, after the police managed to contain the situation within the compound, there was still a confrontation between the crowd and the police as they had locked the gate.

At some point, the crowd tried to push the gate so as to gain access to the compound.
