A police officer attached to Kisumu Huduma Centre electrocuted to death after touching an energized cloth line.

A police officer succumbed to burn injuries after an electrocution occurrence at the Kisumu Central Police Station on the evening of Saturday, December 16.

The officers responding to distress calls found their colleague’s body lying on the ground with his hands firmly gripped on a cloth line.

According to the officers, the deceased’s body had visible burn wounds on the hand and the stomach.

On their preliminary investigation, the police officer established that the cloth line might have been energized after it came into contact with a hanging power line.

TEN people dead after a tragic road accident

The deceased was identified as Police Corporal Peter Osiya and was manning the Kisumu Huduma Centre.

A heavy downpour in the area led to the falling of a tree that sank the power line.

The body was ferried to the Star Mortuary in Kisumu ahead of an autopsy process.

Meanwhile, the scene was processed by the security operations centre personnel.
