Raila-Karua affidavits at Supreme Court detail how IEBC bungled the election way before voting day
3 min readRaila-Karua affidavits filed at the Supreme Court detail how IEBC bungled election way before voting day on 9, August.
Raila Odinga, a presidential candidate for Azimio, and his running mate Martha Karua now assert that the election was rigged long before August 9th.
In sworn affidavits submitted to the Supreme Court, Raila and Karua accused Wafula Chebukati of orchestrating the subversion of the will of the people and highlighted external infiltration, a complicit IEBC Chairman, and doctored forms 34A.
19 foreigners and two Kenyans allegedly gained access to the IEBC system, jeopardizing the integrity of the voting process, according to Raila-Karua affidavits.
In a six-page affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court, Raila states that he was aggrieved by the declaration of William Ruto as president-elect with 7.1 million votes against his 6.9 million votes.
Additionally, Martha Karua, the running mate for Azimio, said there were 21 people with access to the IEBC system, compromising the security and credibility of the presidential election in a detailed 45-page affidavit.
Out of the 21, Karua claimed that 19 of the people were foreigners and two were Kenyans.
Prior to the elections, Karua asserted that the arrest of three Venezuelan nationals at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport had revealed the international conspiracy and its participants.
In accordance with a forensic audit carried out by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the three foreigners were allegedly discovered in possession of essential electoral materials, including electronic devices and access to IEBC systems.
Karua asserts in her affidavit that the IEBC chairman oversaw what Azimio refers to as staging, in which forms 34A from polling places were intercepted, temporarily held at the external address, doctored, and modified before being re-uploaded into the IEBC public portal. This was allegedly done with access to the IEBC system’s back end, according to Karua.
As a result, according to Karua, the commission public portal received a record 11,000 forms 34A on August 11 within the course of just 9 minutes.
According to Karua, the technology was created to support staging and manipulation.
The running mate for Azimio said that Chebukati was to blame for the shady transactions at IEBC.
Karua indicated the IEBC chairman willfully set out to subvert the will of the people and overthrew the constitutional order in declaring Ruto as president-elect in a process that was bungled.
Karua accuses Chebukati of treason on account of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order and the sovereign will of the people as expressed through the ballot.
The split at the commission found a place in Karua’s affidavit with the Azimio deputy leader stating that the disowning of Chebukati’s declaration by four commissioners demonstrated that there was no consensus within the commission on who won the presidential election and thereby Ruto’s victory, declaration and gazettement were invalid, null and void.
