The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has dismissed reports that it is in the process of registering a political party associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
On Thursday, December 19, the ORPP flagged a notice claiming to originate from the office, which alleged that the ORPP was in the process of provisionally registering the party.
The ORPP clarified that the authentic notice, published on Tuesday in the My Gov issue, indicated it was in the process of registering three political parties and none was related to Gachagua.
The first party is the Forum for Economic Development Agenda (FEDA) whose founder members are Tinga Stephen Lekuka, Wambui Lucy Wanjiru, Keloi William Saningo, Ndegwa Christine Kirigo, Koskei Bernard Kiprono and Risper Awour.
The other two parties are Kenya United Generation Party (KUG) and The Future Party (TFP), with 10 and 13 founding members, respectively.
“Particulars of the above listed proposed political parties have been provided on the ORPP website www.orpp.or.ke. Any objections may be presented in writing or in person within seven days to the Registrar of Political Parties,” Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu stated.

This comes even as Gachagua has hinted at a possible alliance with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking in Makueni County on Wednesday, December 18, Gachagua praised Kalonzo, claiming that the Mt. Kenya region owed him.
“We are very grateful, and we won’t forget those people from the Wiper Party, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, who have built a friendship that will last forever. We also won’t bother how Kalonzo helped Kibaki in 2007, the coalition between Kalonzo and Kibaki led to economic development that we had not seen since independence. We forgot to pay that ‘debt’ but we will pay that ‘debt’,” Gachagua remarked.
