Emergency teams are racing against time to rescue passengers trapped in a horrific accident at the Twin Bridge area on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

Several people are feared dead after a multiple-vehicle crash in the Migaa area.

The accident involving a Simba bus and other vehicles occurred on Saturday dawn, August 24, at Molo’s Twin Bridge along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.

Responders from the Kenya Red Cross showed up at the scene to undertake rescue missions.

According to the humanitarian agency, 44 people sustained injuries of varied degrees 

Fourteen were admitted to the Molo Sub County Hospital for further treatment, while the remaining 30 were treated at the scene.

To bolster the rescue efforts of the Kenya Red Cross were police officers and disaster management officers from the Nakuru County governnment.

The accident occurred days after another on the same route.

It was on August 20 when at least 13 people were killed and 36 others injured.

The Kenya Red Cross disclosed that the tragic incident involved a Coast bus and other vehicles.

“Thirty-six injured individuals have been taken to Molo and Coptic Hospitals following a road traffic incident involving a PSV bus and multiple vehicles at Migaa in Molo, Nakuru County,” Kenya Red Cross stated.

Reports indicated that the bus lost control after its brakes failed before ramming into the vehicles and later landing in a ditch.  

The bus was completely wrecked, with some belongings of the passengers, including bags, scattered on the road.

Police officers showed up at the scene to assist in clearing the road to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
