About KDF officers injured after road accident along Sagana-Karatina highway.

Nearly 20 Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers have been injured after the truck they were traveling was involved in an accident on Monday, August 12 in the Gatithi area along the Sagana-Karatina highway in Kirinyaga County.

According to a witness, the KDF truck was traveling from Karatina to Sagana when it hit a bump, lost control, and rolled several times.

“The driver probably didn’t see the bump and hit it. When he hit the bump, the vehicle lost control and fell into a ditch. The soldiers who were there were thrown out. When the vehicle stopped, we rushed to try and save them,” the witness recounted.

The injured KDF officers were rushed to Naji Private Hospital, Kerugoya Hospital, and Jamii Karatina Hospital for medical attention.

Police officers from Sagana Police Station are processing the accident scene and have launched investigations into the incident.

The bus was carrying 63 mourners to a funeral in Uganda when the accident occurred.

On August 5, 26 pupils and three teachers from Rockside Academy were injured after their school bus was rammed into by a towing truck in the Sachangwan area along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

The Rockside Academy pupils were heading to Nairobi from Eldoret after participating in the National Music Festivals Competition when the accident occurred.

The injured pupils were rushed to the Molo Sub-County Hospital and Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment.
