A 14-year-old boy was allegedly shot and killed by his 15-year-old friend from a neighbouring ranch in Kinamba Sosian Village, Laikipia North.
Peter Edung, 15, a grade nine pupil at Ol Maisor Primary, was shot by the son of a rancher allegedly on a hyena-hunting exercise.
According to a local elder, Amuria Lorere, Edung was shot by his friend using his father’s Mark Four CZ 527 rifle, with the community now demanding a thorough scrutiny into the matter.

Leaders from the area, led by Education Chief Officer Jecintah Koree and area MCA Sammy Lokopien, have demanded justice, alleging that the rancher has compromised the Authorities conducting the investigations.
They noted that no one has been arrested and presented in a court of law, and that no information has been given to the family concerning the incident.
What the villagers are demanding is justice for Edung and the real culprits who allowed a minor to have a gun arrested and prosecuted and have vowed that the local school will not be reopened until they get the truth about the suspected murder.
The body is lying at Rumuruti Funeral home while the whereabouts of the attacker remain unknown.
