Three people confirmed dead after a road accident involving a PSV and boda boda along Eldoret-Kitale Road.

A fatal traffic collision on Friday night along the Eldoret-Kitale road claimed the lives of three people.

The accident, which occurred at Moi’s Bridge area in Trans Nzoia County involved a public service vehicle and a boda boda. 

The witnesses claimed that the matatu and the boda boda collided head-on. 

The accident occurred while the matatu was escaping a large pothole. 

Confirming the accident, Cherangany Police Commander Okumu Dullo said investigations show the matatu driver hit a pothole, which led to him colliding with the boda boda. 

“I would like to urge drivers to be careful this festive season. We appeal to KeRRA to fix the road to avoid such incidences,” Dullo said. 

Elsewhere, one person died on the spot while two others are in critical condition following a grisly accident involving a lorry and two motorcycles at Kapkesosio area along Sigor- Kyokong Murram road in Bomet county.

According to Chepalungu sub-county police boss Phanton Analo, a boda boda headed toward Sigor’s general direction was hit from behind by another boda boda boda heading the same direction. 

The motorcyclist lost control and collided with an oncoming Isuzu truck, instantly killing one person and seriously injuring the other passenger on his back.

The other Boda speeded off after the incident while the driver of the lorry has been arrested and is currently held at Bomet police station.

The rider who sustained multiple fractures in both legs was admitted to Tenwek Hospital while his passenger who lost two teeth and got body injuries is being attended to at Longisa County referral hospital.
